The RYA Day Skipper practical course recommends that you complete the RYA Day Skipper Theory course to ensure you have the navigational skills required for the practical.

You must:

  • Have completed 2 days of practical experience on a motor cruiser

If you have no practical experience then we recommend that you complete the RYA Helmsman's Course or Powerboat Level 2 Course first. Our advice is to pick up the RYA Day Skipper Handbook so you are familiar with some of the vocabulary used on yachts.
